Election observers scrutinise records in 381 booths in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: Observers of the Election Commission along with returning officers of various constituencies in the district scrutinised the records of 381 booths in the district that registered a polling of 80 per cent and above, on Sunday.

All constituencies in the district have booths where more than 80 percent votes were polled. The candidates in the constituencies or their agents were present when the scrutiny took place.

In Aroor constituency, scrutiny took place in 57 booths. The scrutiny took place in 60 booths in Cherthala and 70 booths in Mararikkulam.

In Alappuzha and Ambalappuzha constituencies, the scrutiny took place in 16 and 11 booths respectively. The scrutiny was conducted in 23 booths in Kuttanad constituency, 38 booths in Haripad constituency, 36 booths in Kayamkulam constituency and 20 booths in Mavelikkara constituency.

In Pandalam records in 44 booths were scrutinised and Chengannur in records of six booths constituencies were scrutinised.

The election commission found nothing wrong in the scrutiny and so the elections held are valid.
