Manipal Arogya Suraksha scheme cards distributed

Kaup (Udupi dist.): Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) H.S. Ballal distributed the Manipal Arogya Suraksha scheme cards to members of the Rural Maternity and Child Welfare Centre here on Saturday.

Mr. Ballal said that 45,000 persons in the district had been given the cards. The Manipal Arogya Suraksha scheme card is an insurance scheme for providing healthcare to families below poverty line. Under the scheme, medical expenses up to Rs. 30,000 are taken care of.

Leelavati welcomed the gathering. Lalaji Mendan, MLA, presided over the function.
