GUNTUR: Some 1,900 Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) from rural areas across Guntur district have pledged to do their best to eradicate AIDS from the district by applying the knowledge gained in the two-day training programme. The training programme was conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Association and Jana Vignana Vedika with the cooperation of the State AIDS Control Society and CHARCA. "RMPs are the first point of contact in the rural health set-up and creating AIDS awareness among them goes a long way in curbing the disease from Guntur district, which has a high incidence rate," said JVV state unit secretary V.Lakshmana Reddy. The RMPs were given two-day training on various aspects relating to AIDS.
