Ryot held for trying to sell fake tiger skin
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
The city police have arrested a farmer for allegedly trying to dispose of dog skin as a tiger's skin at Dilsukhnagar on Saturday night.
D. Kumara Swamy, 45, a native of Shapuram in Warangal district, was nabbed after the police raided Sri Sai lodge in Dilsukhnagar. Swamy painted two skins yellow and black to make it appear as tiger skin and was selling them for Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 50,000.
"On receipt of information, we sent a decoy party to the lodge and nabbed Swamy," Task Force Inspector (East Zone) Emmanuel Benjamin said.
He said a veterinary doctor from Nehru Zoological Park confirmed that Swamy was selling dog skin. Swamy was later handed over to the Malakpet police.
