Two killed, 35 injured as bus falls into lake

BANGALORE: Two persons were killed and 35 persons were injured when a private bus fell into a lake in Doddabelavangala police station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Sunday.

The police gave the names of the victims as Muniswamaiah (65) of Tipu village and Nagaraj (45) of Bommanahalli.

The police said the bus was carrying passengers from Doddaballapur to Kolalu when the accident occurred.

The police said the bus driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in the accident.

Muniswamiah and Nagaraj died on the spot, the police added.

The injured have been admitted to Victoria Hospital and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, the police said. A case has been registered.

Dies in accident

A mechanic working with the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation died on the spot when a car hit him in the Adugodi Traffic Police limits on Saturday. The police gave the name of the dead as Ganesh (42). The incident occurred when Ganesh was crossing the road.
