Coimbatore: Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamizh Sangam; Department of Tamil Language, University of Madras; and Thirukkural Higher Studies and Research Centre have organised a competition among writers and publishers, to confer the Best Thirukkural Book Award for volumes published during the years 2003-06. A release from Cheyon, secretary of the Tamizh Sangam, said that the organisers would award three prizes of Rs. 5,000 (first), Rs. 3,000 (second) and Rs. 2,000 (third) to the winners. These would be awarded to either the authors or the publishers of the books that were selected from the entries submitted.
Last date
Five copies of each book were to be sent to the Tamizh Sangam at its Chennai address on or before April 30, to enable the selection to be carried out.
