Rupee turns weak
MUMBAI:
The rupee, which started on a firm note, but turned weak towards the fag-end on fresh dollar demand and ended lower at 45.00/01 a dollar on Tuesday. At the outset the rupee was strong due to weakening of dollar against other world currencies mainly due to the G7's specific mention of China. Later, the Indian currency turned weak following fresh dollar buying by banks, forex dealers said. The rupee opened with overnight strength at 44.8250/8350 a dollar and after moving in a range of 44.7700 and 45.0100, closed at 45.00/01, showing a moderate loss over Monday's close of 44.91/92. PTI
