`Speed up Vamsadhara relief assessment'

Special Correspondent

Srikakulam: Joint Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah on Tuesday directed officials to complete value assessment of houses and other structures that would get submerged in the proposed Vamsadhara project. Expressing anger over delay in this aspect, the Joint Collector said "such indifference will have adverse impact on the progress of project work". He said that RR (Rehabilitation and Resettlement) package proposals for Gunabhadra, Paparpuram, Kaligam, Massingi and Chinnakollivalasa villages, involving an expenditure of Rs.6.18 crore, had been sent to the Government. "We have to provide house sites to 610 families. The requirement of land for this is 640 acres. Government land measuring 220 acres is available. The rest has to be acquired," he said
