ESI Act extended to 16 villages

VIZIANAGARAM: The Government has extended Section 1(3) of the Employees State Insurance Corporation Act, 1948, to all areas in the revenue villages of Pydibhimavaram, Devanipalavalasa, Chittivalasa, Soyapalem, Naruvu, Akkayyapalem, Mentada, Varasam, Nelivada, Pishini, Kosta, Vallabharaopeta, Bantupalli, Sancham, Arjunavalasa, Girivanipalem of Ranasthalam mandal of Srikakulam from May 1. The Act applies to all establishments where the manufacturing process is carried on with or without the aid of power and 10 or more employees. Also, in view of the provisions of Section 1(5) of the ESI Act, it also applies to all establishments such as shops, cinema halls, hotels , newspaper establishments etc, where 20 or more people are employed for wages.
