NIT-C workshop on CMM Certification on April 28

    KOZHIKODE: The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) will be organizing a one-day workshop on Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Certification at NIT-C campus near here on April 28.

    The workshop will be conducted at the Department of Training Placement and Linkage, NIT-C. The workshop is aimed working closely with both upcoming and established technopreneurs and advise them on improving their business and production processes to prepare for CMM Certification.

    The Capability Maturity Model for Software (CMM or SW-CMM) is a model for judging the maturity of the software processes of an organisation and for identifying the key practices that are required to increase the maturity of these processes. It is a description of the stages through which software organisations evolve as they define, implement, measure, control and improve their software processes. The model is a guide for selecting the process improvement strategies by facilitating the determination of current process capabilities and identification of the issues most critical to software quality and process improvement.

    The programme will be conducted with the assistance of Srinivas Thummalapalli, Director -Management Advisory Services, TUV Rheinland India Pvt. Ltd. (Headquartered in Cologne, Germany). He has over 17 years of rich industry experience in Corporate Transformation initiatives, leading and consulting on software process improvement (SPI) and People Management practice. He has provided Leadership, Advisory Support to several leading companies across the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific region. The workshop will be interactive and punctuated with real life illustrations, practical scenarios and examples from the industry. The course fee is Rs.500 a participant and it covers lunch, tea and the course materials.
