SHRC holds sitting

ALAPPUZHA: State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) member S. Varghese on Tuesday held a sitting at Alappuzha PWD Rest House. The commission received 23 complaints of which seven were settled. Devotees oppose Government move

KOZHIKODE: Devotees under the banner of Azhakodi Devi Mandira Karma Samiti have protested against the Government take over of Azhakodi Devi Temple. Hundreds of devotees participated in the `namajapam' and `karpoora homam' conducted as per the second phase of the agitation against the Government move. The meeting also demanded that Government interference in Temple administration against the wishes of the devotees should be resisted. Hindu Aikya Vedi State general secretary P.K. Sahadevan has asked the devotees to model their agitation on similar agitations held in other temples. He asked devotees including women to come forward to participate in the agitations. — Staff Reporter
