Demand that district administration provide employment as Hindi pandits

  • Recruitment in Karimnagar district not completed following some objections
  • DRO convinces them to dismount, takes them to Joint Collector
  • Police take them into custody

KARIMNAGAR: Five candidates who qualified for DSC-2002 threatened to commit suicide by jumping from the Collectorate building complex on Tuesday evening demanding that the district administration provide employment as Hindi pandits.

Following irregularities in the DSC-2002 recruitment, the State Government had issued G.O. no. 805 for correcting the recruitment process.

But, the recruitment process was not completed in Karimnagar district following some objections.

Irked over the delay in the recruitment of Hindi pandits, five DSC qualified candidates mounted the Collectorate building complex and threatened to commit suicide if they were not provided employment.

Later, DRO Gangaram convinced them and took them to Joint Collector Christiana Z. Chongthu. The Joint Collector in turn informed the matter to the police, who took them into their custody.

    DEO's concern

In the meantime, DEO B. Manmadha Reddy expressed concern over the candidates threatening to commit suicide when the final orders for recruitment process were pending with the Government. He appealed to the candidates to cooperate with the Government.

He said the recruitment process was pending following objections over separate selection of women candidates as Hindi pandits.

He also promised that they would continue with the recruitment process as soon as government orders were received.
