Deputy Mayor's plea rejected

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy turned the tables on Deputy Mayor G. Subash Chanderji and fellow BJP corporators by rejecting their call attention motions to discuss various civic issues on Tuesday.

Giving his ruling after taking MCH Secretary P.V. Lakshmi Reddy's advice soon after the end of question hour, he said such motions had no place in the HMC Act and were relevant only for Parliament and Assemblies. "Any question can be asked for which the Commissioner and his officials will give replies. In any case most of the issues raised were already discussed," he maintained as all BJP Corporators including Venkat Reddy and others rushed to the podium.
