Three die as two motorcycles collide

HYDERABAD: Three persons died and another was seriously injured when the two motorcycles on which they were travelling collided head on here at Dhulapally of Petbasheerabad on Monday night.

An electrician Javed and a mechanic Gafar, both aged 20 years and residents of Kompally, were returning to their houses from a marriage reception party on their motorcycle when the accident took place around 9.30 p.m.

They rammed into an oncoming motorcycle on which a seeds company lorry driver Someswara Rao, 36, and his supervisor Ratnakar Rao were going to their client's office.

Instantaneous death

While Ratnakar Rao, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries, death was instant for the other three, Petbasheerabad Sub-Inspector Srinath Reddy said.

Death of three persons in a road accident involving two motorcycles was unheard of in the recent past in and around the city.

So forceful was the collision that the two bikes got reduced to twisted metal frames.
