T.P. Chatram in a bad state: Hande
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
The BJP candidate for Anna Nagar constituency, H.V. Hande, on Tuesday alleged that the Thandavaroya Pillai Chatram (T.P. Chatram), one of the oldest residential areas in Anna Nagar, has been left uncared for several years. During a campaign, Dr. Hande said the area was totally neglected by elected representatives. They never raised relevant civic issues about their constituency in the Assembly too, he said.
In the last few years even basic amenities such as drinking water supply, storm water drains and drainage facilities were not provided. Similarly, Housing Board tenements constructed decades ago were in an appalling condition. They needed to be repaired immediately, Dr. Hande said.
Dr. Hande assured the residents that if elected he would allocate Rs. 20 crore towards improving basic amenities. Similarly, the tenements would be repaired, and the issue raised in the Assembly.
