Electrician falls to death from terrace

BANGALORE: A 35-year-old electrician, said to be in an inebriated condition, died after he fell from the terrace of his house in Rajajinagar IV Block on Tuesday morning.

According to the police, Shrinivas, the victim, returned to his house late on Monday after consuming alcohol. He did not take food and his family slept on the terrace of his house. It was around 3 a.m. that he got up to answer nature's call.

While climbing down from the terrace, which has no parapet, he slipped and fell. His wife alerted the neighbours for help. Shrinivas was taken to Victoria Hospital, where he died in the morning, the Rajajinagar police said.

Girl ends life

A 17-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging after being reportedly scolded by parents for having failed in a subject in first PUC examination in K.R. Puram Police Station limits on Sunday night. The police gave the name of the deceased as Sheetal. She was the daughter of Guruprakash, a resident of Devasandra in K.R. Puram.

Youth found dead

A 26-year-old youth running an advertisement agency was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his business premises in Byappanahalli Police station limits on Monday.

The police gave the name of the victim as Naveen Kumar. The police broke open the door of the business premises after neighbours complained of foul smell and found Naveen dead. The police suspected suicide as the youth was running under loss

Killed in accident

A 34-year-old goldsmith, riding pillion on a scooter, was killed after the vehicle was hit by a BMTC bus near Prasanna cinema in Magadi Road traffic police station limits on Monday night. The police gave the name of the victim as Devaraj of Deepanjali Nagar.

According to the police, Devaraj and his friend Umesh, who have shops near the theatre, finished their work and were on their way home. The BMTC bus hit the scooter and Devaraj died on the spot. The injured Umesh has been shifted to a private hospital.

Fatally assaulted

A 40-year-old man was hit by an iron rod allegedly by his friend when he went to ask him for money in Jayanagar 7th block on Monday evening.

According to police, Prasanna Kumar, the victim, had given money to his friend, Deepak Narasimha, a few months ago. When he went to ask for money, Narasimha hit him on the head by an iron rod near a glass shop. Kumar has been admitted to a private hospital.
