Veterinary rehabilitation camp

The Jain Group of Institutions organised a veterinary rehabilitation camp at the Government Veterinary Hospital near here on Sunday. The animals were screened, inoculated and treated for various diseases. The villagers who attended the camp were told about the ethical treatment of animals. The camp also strove to dispel ignorance about frequently occurring diseases and ailments that afflict livestock and lead to a wastage of resources and loss of precious livestock by the farmers.

Free vacation training

Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment will conduct a free vacation programme on "Bio-resources" from May 2 to May 30 for students who have appeared for SSLC examinations. The programme comprises lectures and interactive sessions with eminent scientists, visits to research institutes and outdoor camps. The last date to apply is April 27. Legal services

The office of the Commissioner for Disabilities in coordination with Alternative Law Forum will provide free legal services to the disabled persons at the Commissioner's Office at No. 40, Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town, Bangalore on every Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and at VOICES, No. 165, 9th Cross 1st Stage, Indiranagar, Bangalore, on every Thursday between 4 p.m and 6 p.m. Details can be had on ph: 25482641.

Animal welfare

To commemorate Basava Jayanti, Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka will conduct "animal welfare fortnight - 2006" from April 30 to May 13 at the Dairy Farm, Veterinary College Campus, Hebbal. Details can be had on ph: 22860205.

Alternative healing

Vaccination

On the occasion of World Veterinarian's Day, Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka in coordination with Veterinary College, Hebbal, and Pet-Practitioners Association of Karnataka will conduct a free anti-rabies vaccination program for dogs and interaction with animal owners regarding responsible ownership from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 29 at its premises in Cubbon Park, Kasturba Road. Free eye check-up
