RBI penalty on TMB

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of Rs. 5 lakh on Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd for violation of RBI regulations on ensuring end-use of the bank's funds lent to borrowers, which was facilitated, by not ensuring diligent compliance with Know Your Customer norms in opening accounts.
