Prithvi to set up overseas centre
HYDERABAD:
Prithvi Information Solutions has announced plans to set up an overseas development centre (ODC) with an investment of Rs. 90 crore and to increase headcount here from 350 to 2,000 by March next. At a press conference here on Wednesday after the board considered the unaudited financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, V. Satish Kumar, Managing Director, said it would soon open a shop in Singapore, Dubai and Qatar. It was also planning for an issue of foreign currency convertible bonds up to $70 million for acquiring some six to seven U.S. and European firms. The company registered a 48.4 per cent growth for 2006 with revenues at Rs. 452.73 crore against Rs. 305.13 crore in the last fiscal. Sales in the quarter were Rs. 137 crore. The profit after tax for 2006 was Rs. 54.03 crore, up 88.3 per cent over 2005. A maiden interim dividend of 15 per cent for 2005-06 was also announced.
