KADAPA: Tenders will be called for works worth Rs.10 crores within a week to supply protected water to Badvel, Gopavaram and Atlur mandals, where fluorosis posed health problems, Badvel MLA D.C. Govinda Reddy said. Addressing Praja Patham gram sabhas at Reddipalle, Muthukur, Varikuntla and Atlur panchayats, the MLA lamented high fluoride content in water. Stating that nine overhead water tanks were sanctioned, he assured supply of similar tanks in all panchayats. A sum of Rs. 40 lakhs was spent for releasing drinking water to 101 villages in the mandal through Brahmamsagar reservoir of Telugu Ganga project, he said. People of Atlur Dalitawada complained of electric lines that dangled at low heights posing threat of electrocution. Washermen sought sanction for a dhobikhana. At Muthukur, Mr. Govinda Reddy upbraided partymen supplying liquor to villagers. Atlur mandal president Munaiah, mandal vice-president Mallikarjuna Reddy, ZPTC member A. Ramakrishna Reddy and the officials also participated.
