Patterns of supply chain management discussed

Several materials management professionals take part in deliberations

VISAKHAPATNAM : Visakhapatnam Steel Plant chairman and managing director Y. Siva Sagar Rao will address the valedictory of `Materials Management Week' being observed at Ukkunagaram on Saturday by the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).

During the weeklong celebrations, several materials management professionals took part in a discussion on `Emerging paradigms in supply chain management.' Speakers including Visakhapatnam Port Trust chief materials manager Alok Choudary, HPCL general manager Jagannadham, Hindustan Shipyard Ltd. deputy GM J. Mohana Rao, NTPC assistant GM Viswesaraiah, Nalco chief materials manager S.C. Janatiath, and Andhra petrochemicals GM Mohan Krishna focused on supply chain management in the present industrial scenario.

IIMM branch secretary S. Prabhakara Rao gave details on PG diploma courses being conducted in materials management, inventory control, supply chain management and other subjects to ensure better promotional prospects for in-service candidates.
