Mumbai wall collapse victims hail from Palamur

MAHBUBNAGAR: All six people who lost their lives in a wall collapse in Mumbai hailed from this district and were `Palamur' labour.

Late on Wednesday evening, District Collector M. Jagadheeswari released names of the deceased as Chander Naik, group leader (42), Kishan Naik (23), Manibhai (36), Somla Naik (37), Tenugu Seenu (29) and Bhikya Naik (33).

Since the news broke out on Wednesday morning, the Collector has been on the phone finding out details of the collapse in Mumbai. He urged officials of the Maharahstra Government to ensure the best of treatment for the 20 others injured, who also hail from the district. He also asked for help in transporting the six bodies.

The six unfortunate victims in the incident hailed Perkiveedu of Koilkonda mandal, Gibbya thanda and Mithya thanda of Bootpur mandal and Podhepalli of Mahbubnagar rural mandal.
