The revised electoral rolls would be circulated to all candidates and those who required more could get them from their respective returning officers on payment of Rs. 2 per sheet, Mr. Raajendiran said. So far, 5,40,392 voters had received their Elector's Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and with that the number of EPIC holders in Madurai had risen to 15,41,224, which was roughly 76 per cent of the total voters in the district, he said. Those who did not have EPIC could produce any one of the documents stipulated by the Election Commission as an alternative to cast their vote, he said. A total of 10,500 Government staff and teachers were deployed for election duty and training classes for them were going on, he said. Two electronic voting machines would be given to the constituencies where the number of candidates in fray exceeded 16, he added.
