TIRUCHI : Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday appealed to the electorate to renew their mandate to enable her to continue the good work that she had done over the past five years. She promised that the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, if voted to power, would ensure job to at least one member of every family, which does not have any source of employment. As many as 32 lakh job opportunities would be generated in the information technology, bio-fertilizer manufacturing and other sectors for women and youth in the State, she said while campaigning at Manapparai near here. Asserting that she had fulfilled all promises she had made during the 2001 elections, Ms.Jayalalithaa said that she had done much more than what she had assured to meet the aspirations of the people. Listing out the various schemes implemented by the Government, she said the Uzhavar Padukkappu Thittam, distribution of free books to school students, distribution of free cycles, free power supply to agricultural connections, women's self-help groups and the Annadhanam programme in places of religious worship were all successful schemes. She assured that the AIADMK would unconditionally implement its promise of supplying 10 kg of rice free through the Public Distribution System. Ms. Jayalalithaa was accorded a tumultuous welcome by a large number of people at several places. She addressed wayside meetings at Puthanatham, Thuvarankurichi, Virallimalai and Fathima Nagar during her campaign in Tiruchi and Pudukottai districts on Wednesday.
