Woman killed in accident

Thiruvananthapuram: A 30-year-old woman was killed when the motorbike on which she was riding pillion was hit by a lorry laden with logs at Manali, near Amboori, in Vellarada police station limits on Wednesday. The police identified the deceased as Sarada. Her husband, Anil Kumar, who driving the motorcycle, has been admitted to Medical College Hospital (MCH) with minor injuries. — Staff Reporter

Food poisoning: four admitted to MCH

Thiruvananthapuram: Four persons of a family were admitted to MCH late on Wednesday night with symptoms of food poisoning. The MCH authorities said the four had accidentally consumed "poisonous" mushrooms. The admitted persons are Rahen, 59, and his children, Sheebha, 23, Sheena, 21, and Sajana, 25. — Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: The Federation of Residents Associations of Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT) has urged the Public Health authorities to take urgent measures to check the spread of viral fever.
