Letters to the Editor
Just as a tiger cannot change its stripes and a leopard its spots, the LTTE too cannot shun the politics of violence and hatred. This has once again been proved by its attack on the Sri Lankan army chief. Besides putting the clock back on the peace process, the incident has triggered another round of violence and bloodshed in the island. It shows the LTTE's lack of commitment to a peaceful and lasting solution to the ethnic crisis.
B. Suresh Kumar,
* * * The hostilities triggered by the LTTE will derail the peace process. The Tigers must acknowledge that a permanent and peaceful solution to the ethnic strife cannot be reached by indulging in gruesome activities. Colombo too should exercise restraint at this juncture lest the long-awaited peace should die a premature death.
Deepak Kumar,
