ATI Tech to go in for major expansion

HYDERABAD: ATI Technologies India, a leading 3D graphics and digital media solutions provider, has announced major expansion plans for its Indian operations involving investments in excess of $50 million in the next five years. The company, which inaugurated its new premises built on 48,000 sq. ft. in Hyderabad on Thursday, plans to double its headcount from the existing 175 in the next 12 months. Speaking to reporters, ATI Technologies Inc., Senior Vice-President, consumer business unit, Adrian Hartog, said the company planned to capture a major share in the $13 billion visualisation technology segment and would shortly open a digital television lab and audio centre of excellence. It had already invested over $15 million in India and was planning to ramp up operations by making investments to the tune of $10 million every year over the next five years.
