This Day That Age
The Communist Party of India will support Prime Minister Nehru's proposal for the settlement of the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan on the basis of the present ceasefire line. This decision is contained in a political resolution adopted on April 26 by the Communist Party Congress, now in session in Palghat. The party said: "The Communist Party of India considers that both India and Pakistan should settle the issue of Kashmir by taking the present ceasefire line as the basis for the demarcation of boundary and restore the traditional economic and trade relations of Kashmir as part of peaceful relations between India and Pakistan." The resolution also called upon the people to exercise vigilance on the question of Kashmir and defeat the "imperialist game of embroiling India and Pakistan in conflict."
