KADAPA: Kadapa town is being developed in a planned manner with an outlay of Rs. 300 crores, Kadapa Deputy Mayor K. Nabi Rasool said on Thursday. Addressing Praja Patham gram sabhas in 37, 38 and 39 municipal divisions here, he said efforts were in progress on a war-footing to augment drinking water supply. A pipeline was being laid from Pennar river at Chennur at a cost of Rs. 9 crores to supply drinking water to Chemmumiyapet and Akkayapalle, he said. People facing water, sanitation or any other problem could call on toll free No. 1913 and complain, he said. Women self-help groups were disbursed loans of Rs. 300 crores by the Government and banks, Mr. Rasool said. Essential commodities were not being supplied to 29,660 ration cards, as their family members were not photographed under Iris system, he said and asked people not to entertain any notions. Stating that rice and other commodities were being issued since Monday last, he urged white card-holders to complain to elected representatives if they were denied ration.
