HYDERABAD : Union Labour Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that his party will organise a victory rally here next month to mark the statehood to Telangana. Addressing party workers on the fifth anniversary celebrations of the TRS on Thursday, Mr. Rao said ostentation was avoided for the day's programme on strong indications from New Delhi that separate Telangana would become a reality next month. Instead of having two major programmes within a short span, it was decided to go ahead with only one, on a massive scale, at the Parade Grounds next month. Mr. Rao said there was no stopping separate Telangana at this stage as the demand enjoyed the support of three-fourth of the members in Lok Sabha. The support extended by the BJP pulled out all stoppers in the achievement of the objective. He added that the road thus far had been rocky as several forces had placed hurdles. The media too played its part, he said, and appealed to editors to cooperate as the objective was in sight. The Union Minister demanded withdrawal of the State Government's recommendation to the Centre for filling seven vacancies of High Court judges since there was no representation for Telangana. Union Minister A. Narendra said it was the Congress which frequently dictated deadlines for separate Telangana. The TRS had no role in it. He said there was no truth in the criticism against him and Mr. Rao that they were reluctant to quit the Cabinet.
