KOZHIKODE: The Malabar Botanical Garden held a painting contest for children here on the occasion of World Earth Day. As many as 50 children in the LKG to High School category participated in the contest, which featured various faces of nature such as `Beautiful Earth,' `Dying Earth,' and `Farmers' Earth.' The organisers said the paintings would be exhibited at a venue in the city shortly. The contest was conducted with the assistance of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, and Green World Research Centre.
