Paint factory destroyed in fire

PANAJI: The entire factory of Berger Paints located at Kundaim Industrial Estate in central Goa was destroyed in a major fire that broke out on the factory premises on Friday morning.

However, there was no loss of life took place as the workers and others vacated the premises immediately, Fire Services officials said. The cause of fire was not yet established, the officials added.

Fire Service sources said 12 fire tenders were pressed into service and they brought it under control by 2.30 p.m., they said

The fire tenders from Navy and Mormugao Port also assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The Fire Services said that they managed to avert damage to other factories in the vicinity.
