WAITING FOR THEIR TURN: Candidates at the KAHE counselling for admissions to postgraduate medical and dental courses in Belgaum on Friday.
Belgaum: The KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHE), the first deemed university of north Karnataka, on Friday started its maiden counselling process for admissions to postgraduate courses in Medicine and Dental Sciences for the academic year 2006-07. The event was marked by an informal function where KLE Society Chairman and KAHE Chancellor Prabhakar B. Kore, MLC, greeted the candidates with flowers and dwelt on the procedure to be followed during the counselling, and other aspects of admission. Prominent among those present on the occasion included KAHE Registrar F.V. Manvi and J.N. Medical College Principal V.D. Patil. According to a KAHE release, counselling is being held for 362 candidates from COMED-K Rank 5 to 367 for admissions to Postgraduate courses in medicine. For admissions to postgraduate dental courses, counselling is being held for the rank 26 to 2517 (totally 201 applicants). In all, counselling is being held for 574 candidates seeking admissions to medical and dental courses run by KAHE.
