Maneka to head Energy Globe Jury

MANEKA GANDHI, M.P. has been appointed chairperson of the International Energy Globe Jury to decide and present the annual Energy Globe Award — World award for Sustainability.

The Energy Globe is the most significant and prestigious international environmental prize and is presented annually in the categories of earth, fire, water, air, and the youth.

Instituted seven years ago by Wolfgang Neumann, an Austrian environmentalist, the aim of the award is to make people more aware of current environmental problems. It is also to prepare them for challenges in the future.
