MANGALORE: Any complacency on part of law enforcement agencies in an effort to root out drug menace can prove dangerous to society, Additional Director-General of Police (Western Range) K.S. Suresh Babu has said. Money generated through sale of drugs was used to buy weapons and these in turn were used to carry out acts of terrorism, he said. Mr. Suresh Babu was inaugurating a two-day workshop on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for police and members of the Department of Prosecution organised by Dakshina Kannada district police in association with zonal office of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chennai. Mr. Babu said "narco-terrorism" was a grave phenomenon. "Society will have to contend with this in future," he said.
