VISAKHAPATNAM: Combing operations to counter Maoist activities in the district will be intensified, Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mannsaid. Condemning the killing of the tribal Biddika Rama Rao by Maoists branding him an informer, he appealed to tribals to extend co-operation in curbing n``xalite activities. Mr. Mann described killing of the tribal on mere suspicion as ``inhuman.'' Rama Rao was a Maoist sympathiser but had left the naxalite fold fed up with their ways. He accused Maoists of treating tribals as expendable after their purpose was served. Tribals should realise the threat once they get involved with Maoists, the SP cautioned.
