THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kanthapuram A.P. Abubacker Musaliar, the spiritual leader of a Sunni group, on Friday said the Sunnis in these elections would help the political coalition that had been supportive to their needs and aspirations.

Delivering religious discourse at the `Hubbu Rasool Conference' here, he said that during the time of elections it was natural for the State to discuss whom the Sunnis would support.

"We have not pledged our support to any political party or coalition in particular. There is no such precedence. However, we will help those who help us. And we will oppose those who deserve to be opposed. We have shown in the past that we could effectively put into practice our decision," he said.
