Collector warns of stern action against erring staff

KARAIKAL: A Government employee in Karaikal in the Union Territory of Pondicherry has been placed under suspension for his alleged involvement in election-related offences.

Sudhir Kumar, Collector-cum-District Election Officer, Karaikal, said on Friday that K.Sivasubramanian, autoclave operator in the Government General Hospital in Karaikal had been placed under suspension on Thursday for his alleged involvement in poll-related offences.He was found campaigning and canvassing for a political party in Tirunallar segment and had reportedly committed some criminal offences and was remanded to judicial custody, the Collector said.

He warned that stern action would be taken against Government employees found canvassing or campaigning for contesting candidates.
