MANGALORE: N. Yogish Bhat, Mangalore MLA, on Thursday said that the Kadri Park here would be developed into a modern park with several features, including a musical fountain, at a cost of Rs. 4 crore. Mr. Bhat, who inaugurated the stalls at the flower and horticulture show at Kadri, said the park would have Italian, Japanese and French gardens. Besides, there would be lawns, a children's park, rock garden, water falls, meditation centre, wildlife enclosure and a permanent venue for horticulture shows where orchids and other exotic flowers would be on display along with a garden development programme for citizens. A report on the project had been sent to the Principal Secretary's office in Bangalore. A trust would be formed to oversee the execution of the project, Mr. Bhat said. Mr. Bhat said Dakshina Kannada had received Rs. 4 crore from the National Horticultural Mission for the development of horticulture. Dakshina Kannada was one of the 15 districts in the State to get this allocation.
