CHENNAI: Justice T.V. Masilamani, who is retiring as Judge of the Madras High Court on May 29, was given a farewell by judges and court officers on Friday, which was the last working day of the current judicial year.

Born in May 1944, he enrolled himself as an advocate in June 1968. He joined the subordinate judicial service in 1972, and was appointed Additional Judge of the High Court on April 3, 2003.

With his retirement, the sitting strength of judges in the High Court has come down to 38, as against the sanctioned strength of 49. Mr. Justice Masilamani will, however, sit as vacation Judge of the court on May 15 and 28.
