One killed, six injured in accident at Vembayam

Thiruvananthapuram: One person was killed and six others injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near Thekkada, Vembayam, on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Safiya Beevi, 43, of Chittattumukku, Kaniyapuram. The body has been kept in the mortuary of Medical College Hospital (MCH). Two children, aged five and 10, who were injured, are under treatment at SAT Hospital, while the rest are being treated at the MCH.

Woman dead

A 74-year-old woman died after she jumped into a well on Friday evening. Though the personnel of the Fire and Rescue Services rushed her to the MCH, she was declared dead on arrival. The woman has been identified as Sarojini Amma, of Peringammala, Kalliyoor. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the MCH.

Pedestrian run over

An 83-year-old man was killed after he was knocked down by a KSRTC bus near Krishnapuram Edagramam, Neyyattinkara, on Friday evening. He has been identified as Krishnamoorthy, a resident of the same locality. Man found dead

Anilkumar, 42, of Plaveli, Neyyattinkara, was found dead in his house in the early hours on Friday after he consumed poison.
