HYDERABAD: Hereafter, Ministers will compulsorily be present in their offices in Secretariat on Mondays and Tuesdays. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy issued instructions to them to this effect at Saturday's Cabinet meeting citing the need to clear pending files and expedite the work relating to preparation of reports by different Cabinet sub-committees covering various issues. The meeting adopted resolution thanking the electorate of the Visakhapatnam I Assembly constituency for giving a resounding victory for the Congress candidate in the recent byelection. The Cabinet sanctioned two new posts for protection of Government lands in Tirupati -- a special deputy collector (Land Protection) and a deputy collector (Legal). It also approved Government guarantee for Rs. 194 crores against the cane-crushing operations by nine cooperative sugar factories.
