Monica Bedi files bail application

New Delhi: Monica Bedi, partner of Abu Salem, today filed a bail application in the Supreme Court contending that she had already faced trial in the `fake passport' case in Portugal from where she was extradited to India.

She had earlier challenged the Madhya Pradesh High Court order dated March 6, 2006 vide which her bail application was dismissed.

She is facing two cases under section 420/120 B IPC in Bhopal and Hyderabad.

The bail application will come up for hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday. Both cases have been investigated by the CBI and the trial is underway.
