CBI inquiry into blast demanded

Two persons were killed in blast that took place on April 6


  • 14 persons arrested were later released on bail
  • Accused charged under the Explosive Substances Act

    MUMBAI: Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India and other political parties on Saturday demanded a CBI inquiry into the blast that took place in Nanded on April 6 killing two persons.

    At a press conference organised by the Forum against War and Terror, Mohammed Altaf Hussein from Nanded, of the Movement for Peace and Justice, a voluntary organisation, said the police had clearly said the Bajrang Dal was involved in the explosion, which took place in the residence of L. G. Rajkondwar, a retired executive engineer of the irrigation department.

    Fourteen persons were arrested after the explosion, but they have been released on bail, he said.

    The CPI(M), the Bharatiya Republican Party Bahujan Mahasangh led by Prakash Ambedkar , the CPI, the CPI ML, the Republican Party of India and others have demanded that the perpetrators of the blast must be booked under the relevant legal clauses pertaining to anti-national activities.

    The accused are charged under the Explosive Substances Act.
