Oil prices will not affect growth: Chidambaram

Special Correspondent

Need to do a "balancing act"

HYDERABAD: The mounting prices of crude oil in the international market are not likely to have any direct impact on the economic growth of the country during the current year.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said that the steep increase in crude prices was likely to have an impact on the inflation. There was a need to do a "balancing act" and the Government was hopeful that the prices would not hamper the growth projected for the current year.
