Vivek in final

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: G.L. Vivek will meet Joel Jacob in the boys' under-16 final of the Trivandrum International School tennis tournament here on Saturday.

In the semifinal, Vivek upset top seed Atul Roy 7-6, 4-6, 6-2, while Joel Jacob beat Mihir Pillai 6-3, 6-2.

Parvathy Vijayan beat Sneha Susan 9-3 to enter the final in the girls'under-16 section. In the final she will take on Minu R. Raju who defeated Amala Warrick 9-2.

The results:

Boys' under-16 (Semifinals): G.L. Vivek bt Atul Roy 7-6, 4-6, 6-2; Joel Jacob bt Mihir Pillai 6-3, 6-2

Under-14 (Quarterfinals): Sachin Vinoth bt Mohammed Hamraz 8-5; H. Suraj bt S.S. Nikhil 8-5

Under-12 (Quarterfinals): H. Suraj bt Mathew T. Lathara 8-2; Mohammed Hamraz bt Aqeel Faheem 8-6; Vignesh V. Gopal bt Aqeel Faheem 8-3; Sachin Vinoth bt Jithin George 8-2

Under-12 (Semfinals): H. Suraj bt Mohammed Hamraz 8-6; Vignesh V. Gopal bt Sachin Vinoth 5-4 (conceded).

Girls Under-16 (Semifinals): Parvathy Vijayan bt Sneha Susan 9-3; Minu R. Raju bt Amala Warrick 9-2.
