IB official, three family members found dead

Thiruvananthapuram: An Intelligence Bureau (IB) official hailing from near the capital city and his three family members were found dead in their house in IB quarters in New Delhi on Sunday.

The body of Sreekumaran Nair, 40, of Mundela, near Nedumangad, on deputation to the IB from Assam Rifles, was reportedly found hanging by around 10.30 a.m., according to information reaching his relatives here.

The body of his wife, Bindu, 32, was found with nerves of the hand slit and those of his two children Aromal, 7, and Archa, one-and-a-half years, in the bathroom of the house.

Sreekumaran Nair is the son of the late Madhavan Nair and Thankamma of Kizhakkumkara Veedu at Mundela. Before joining the IB on deputation in 2003, he had been with Assam Rifles as havildar clerk.

He had been in New Delhi for 10 years.

According to the relatives here, Bindu obtained a job in a private firm three weeks ago. Aromal was a second standard student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, R.K. Puram.

The news was conveyed to the relatives at Mundela by around 12.30 p.m.

They have rushed to New Delhi.

The bodies are to be brought to the city later.
