CBI to further probe ICCR human trafficking

New Delhi: Investigations into the alleged human trafficking racket involving the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) have pointed towards a larger game plan, with the Central Bureau of Investigations deciding to examine whether every member of the other dance troupes that went abroad during the tenure of Rakesh Kumar as Director-General had returned.

CBI sources said it was of the view that the visit of the "Mehak Punjab Di," a dance troupe to Berlin in September last year that blew the lid off the human trafficking racket, could not be a case in isolation and that there could be similar instances in the past.

Following this, the CBI has decided to conduct a thorough probe . — PTI
