Suggestions are welcome: Yediyurappa

SHIMOGA: Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has said that the Government is ready to implement suggestions made by the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh pertaining to development of the State.

Talking to presspersons here on Tuesday after addressing a meeting of the Malnad Area Development Board, he reiterated that the Karnataka Development Front had adopted the development as its "mantra."

He said he would discuss the establishment of an airport in Shimoga with the authorities concerned during his visit to New Delhi next week. The district administration had furnished details to the official team of the Airports Authority of India. A final decision on the airport would be announced very soon, he said.

Mr. Yediyurappa said Minister for Small-scale Industries Katta Subramanya Naidu was in touch with the information technology and biotechnology industries in a bid to pursue them to set up units in Shimoga.
