Correspondent

In protest against the encounter killings

Mahabubnagar: Three buses were set ablaze by the activists of CPI (Maoists) on Tuesday evening near Farahabad in Amrabad mandal on Sri Sailam road, about 160 km away from here.

According to information reaching the district headquarters a group of armed naxals were protesting the killing of four Maoists -- allegedly responsible for hijacking the two motorised launches -- by the police in an encounter on Sunday.

The Maoists torched three buses, one belonging to APSRTC, second to Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and a private bus.

It is also learnt that Maoists have given a district bandh call for two days on May 6 and 7, protesting the killings.
